In the beginning, we were created for relationships. Because of the fall, those relationships have been damanged.
Let's talk about cultivating a healthy relationship with yourself.
Or let's talk about maturity as a Christian. Maturity isn't about what we do, but what we don't do (or, rather, the wisdom with which we choose which things to abstain from). Bowling alleys are dens of sin. They are terrible, terrible places. Bars are better than they.
Actually on an interesting note, I've been to a bowling alley that had a bar in the back. I went to it (the bar) with my friends last summer. It was a rather interesting experience. To quote my friend, "There were many lapses in judgement tonight. Mine was suggesting we go to a karaoke bar." But what a good memory it makes. I suppose it's the sort of tale one relates to friends. I won't set an account of it here.
So, anyway, temperance is a mark of Christian maturity. But it can be taken to an extreme -- almost Pharisaichal -- that is not maturity but insincerity (and immaturity).
And, don't be afraid. Fear springs from ignorance of God's will and His power to bring about that will. God will provide. It is natural to be anxious about something, but we should still recognize that He blesses us in ways that are phenomenal. He will take care of his children.
