Dr. Caner is insane: he thinks Longview is the Holy Land.
Actually, I can see why; he comes from Dallas.
His wife eats greens, and she has a relative who makes dandelion wine. I wonder what that tastes like, this medicinal syrup. Of course, since I'm a LeTourneau student, alcohol will never pass my lips, except for when I feel like it. Oops. I mean, never ever.
I think I'm going to have to try dandelion wine sometime. It sounds intriguing, and since LeTourneau's sponsoring it via Dr. Caner (bless him!), I feel obligated to try it lest my Christian faith be lost and my immortal soul be forever damned to an eternal fiery torment in the depths of Hell with Lucifer. (I can't disobey any authority, particularly one that claims to be Christian.) 'Cause LeTourneau can do that. Well, they can try. And since somehow I'm doing chapel reports at their request and against my better judgement's, they obviously have some degree of power.
I'm being overly harsh. My disgust with LeTourneau University needn't occupy my thoughts while I'm listening to this excellent speaker -- though it is rather difficult with the quality of the RealPlayer recording. Perhaps I will do other chapels on tape from the library. That would be better.
Women in Islam are fully covered, but in some countries the rules governing women's hidden/covered status are taken more seriously than others.
Countries like Turkey don't have religious freedom but religious "tolerance", which is to say that one may be Christian (or whatever non-Moslem religion) but cannot evangelize (or whatever parallels other religions).
Women aren't required to be entirely covered, but they are considered less spiritual if they don't.
Moslems are raised to hate us. So the best way to witness to a Moslem is to first earn their trust. And you must be very cautious, because you could offend them by giving them non "Moslem-Kosher" food. And evangelism should be homosexual, lest respect be lost.
Muhammad was a pedophile. Moslems don't like to hear that.
The last thing Muhammad said before he died was "Push the pagans out of the Arabian peninsula." So Moslems can't stop warring.
A young man had his thumbnails removed because he was a Christian and a weak new convert snitched. He was also banished, and misses his home.
Christianity has never been popular, because they deny any man's authority over the spiritual, and say that only God saves. Amen.
