Last night I did something I've not done before; I gave a foot massage.

In the last few years, the importance of imagination and stories has come to my attention. Why are they important? Because they are pieces of life. Several times I have used imagination to go places with others, and it has been enjoyable - though I was taken a bit aback when one girl afterwards thanked me for the "date". But the use of imagination to enter a shared reality with someone you cannot be with in *real* reality is a wonderful use of the Internet, or any realtime distance communication medium.

Last night was not the first time I've done this. Last night was not the first time I have given a foot massage. But last night was the first time I've ever given a virtual massage. Indeed, 'twas the first time I've had any direct person-to-person interaction in a virtual reality - unless you count that reluctant... well... that didn't count. I didn't want to be there, and I worked my way out of it. You know, it's really a pity how some people feel that the Internet and imagination can only combine for cybersex.
