Dr. Bill McDowell is here to talk to us.
Woman, without her man, is nothing.
Woman: without her, man is nothing.
God loves us with an unconditional love. It may be hard for us to understand at times, but we are loved.
I have been listening to this for roughly twenty minutes, and I realize that I have no idea what exactly this man is talking about. I suppose this means that this is a very generic chapel. Either that, or this man is giving his testimony, and there *isn't* really much of a point, other than that God saves -- which is a good point, but simply not something terribly original, particularly when one has been awake all night listening to chapel recordings.
In any case, this man has learned that when he trusts in God to take care of his life, he has never been let down.
Oh, look. Jeremiah. God has a plan for us; to prosper us and not to harm us.
How I hate that verse when it is used out of context.
Well, considering the despair he's discussing, perhaps it's not out of context, after all. That is good.
I accept it, then.
Jeremiah, you see, was a prophet to Israel before and after they were in exile. That promise -- for prosperity -- was one not so much given about good times getting better but rather terribly horrible times that would eventually give way to good times once again.
