Dr. Solganick is here to talk to us about how he came to be saved. He was born in the United States, but his parents are from Romania and whatnot.
In 1991, Solganick was at the University of Moscow. He rejected his Judaism and studied philosphy -- great human systems of thought. In Germany, he studied Nietche, Kant, Hegel, and Marx. Not finding what he was looking for in philosophy, Solganick turned to psychology. At the University of London, he found Freud. By looking at Freud's original German notes, he hoped to find truth. In those notes, he found a Christian gentleman's correspondence with Freud.
By 1984, Solganick turned from psychology to politics to find truth. Somewhat socialist, that gave out. Solganick turned to mysticism (New Age). Visited Stonehenge, took the pantheistic thought of "god in the rock" and "being one with the rock".
Solganick returned to the States in a state of resignation over the concept of finding truth. He decided to go to something more simple: zen. He learned how to wash dishes. Then he became somewhat disheartened, and set about to teach. He was particularly harsh on Christians, and when confronted by a Christian about it, he replied with a trite dismissal about his Jewishness. When his student told him he needed to read the New Testament, he realized that that was one place he hadn't yet looked; it had been taboo.
So he looked. And there, where he had most avoided looking, he found truth.
