Yes, there were *plenty* of fountains in Kansas City; I'd even call it an obsession. A number of them were pretty cool. This one had several men on horseback firing at one another with streams of water from their rifles.

But you can only have so many fountains before you begin to run out of good ideas. This one tries to be from "classical" mythology, but only ends up being kitschy.
And this, in a major intersection. Um... What?
This fountain just defies description. I think it was probably a good thing that this one wasn't running when we saw it.
Speaking of which, there were plenty of other things to find odd in Kansas City.
